[TN-Bird] assorted Rutherford County birds

Yesterday (Feb 18) in a flooded field on Kimbro Road I saw a large flock of A
Pipits. There were a number of ducks and geese present, several Palm
Warblers were seen and one Least Sandpiper was also noted. As the water
recedes,
this area is frequently good for shorebirds, etc, and can easily be scoped from
the car.
On the home front, a small flock of Purple Finches began visiting the feeder
earlier this week. Cooper's Hawks have nested in the neighborhood for several
years. They have been quite vocal recently, and this morning I saw one bird
carrying nesting materiel into the woods. They are most active and easiest to
see at dawn.
