Regarding the presence of armadillos in our region, I'm wondering if this
signals some sort of climate change that would bring in new birds or create a
hostile environment for our old faves.

Suppose that could explain my lovely pair of Eurasian collared doves that
Florida friends tell me I'll soon regret when they become as common as
starlings?
By the way, barbequed armodillo ain"t too bad!!!!!!!!!! Wonder if EC dove
tastes good? Mourning dove breasts are rather nice. I had some once that a
neightbor cooked for me after a dove hunting spree down the road fro me. He
felt he should "share" after I'd fed the doves at my feeder all year. It
bothered me, but I did eat them after his wife had cooked them.
I sure used to like bob-white quail when they were plentiful on our place in
Florida. Delicious. The last I had was a brace of quail at a great
restaurant that used to be in Hillsboro Village.

I really enjoyed seeing my armodillos in Florida and would not mind having a
few in my yard now. The last one I saw and photographed was at Viera Wetlands
near Melbourne, Florida, in 2006.
