This is not a new occurrence.  Armadillos have been in middle Tennessee 
for decades.  As far back as the late 80's or early 90's they had been 
documented in every county in middle Tennessee.  I do not believe it has 
anything to do with climate change; I think it is more to do with the 
fact that armadillos are highly adaptable generalist species and they 
survive well around humans (roadkills notwithstanding).
