[tn-bird] Yellow-throated Warbler, other nature notes at Tremont

Hi Folks,

I had a Yellow-throated Warbler singing along the Falls Trail at
Tremont in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Blount County
Tennessee today.

The Louisiana Waterthrush on the Middle Prong of Little River was
there again today, and had a neighbor singing just about 75 meters
away. These birds apparently have a different calendar from that
used by the 9 Pine Siskins and 2-3 Purple Finches still frequenting
the Tremont feeders.

Other natural history notes, taken at random and from memory:
flowers up include Robin's Plantain, Wild Strawberry, 4 species of
Violet, Dutchman's Breeches, Rue Anemone, and about 20 others
reported this week.

Buckeye is leaving out and I saw an adult Caddisfly along Pigpen
branch while doing some salamander monitoring yesterday. Fence
Lizards abound now on Falls trail, and folks have seen at least 4
species of snake about. "Our" skunk that has been hanging around for
about 2 months now seems to have a buddy, as 2 have been seen around
for the last week and a half.

Have a good day. I'm off work and going hiking!

Charlie
