On October 10th we had our best migrant day, with Black-throated Green,
Tennessee, Yellow-throated, Yellow-rumped, Magnolia, and Nashville Warblers and
a
large flock of Palm Warblers and Chipping Sparrows. We also had five Flickers,
of which two males were displaying to each other with upraised beaks. There
was also a thrush (?Gray Cheeked) and our first Brown Tree Creeper and
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. We had female Summer and Scarlet Tanangers. On 10/11
we saw
our last humming birds, as did two other feeder watchers close by. On 10/21
Frank Crawford, also in Lebanon, saw his first White -crowned Sparrows which
make us envious as we only get the White-Throated. Both yesterday and today we
had a very busy Red-breasted Nuthatch in the tray feeder very close to the
window. We also had a visiting 8 point buck, looking for our resident does no
doubt. Ralph and Kay Brinkhurst, Lebanon, Wilson County.
