I drove down to the Hiwassee WMA in Meigs Co. this evening and saw two Whooping Cranes among the many Sandhills. I also met some local birders who were helpful and generous with their knowledge of the cranes. While driving to the refuge, I observed a Krider's Red-tailed Hawk in Rhea County, TN south of the Roddy Community on highway 27 (DeLorme TN Gazetteer page 41 B7, 35.7507°N, -84.7915°W) just south of the Macedonia Church (Macedonia Road).
