Whooping Cranes - Kyker Bottom - Blount County - 11/23
 
Of course I returned this morning to see if the Whooping Cranes were still
there. Sadly they were not.
 
Thanks to advice from Robin Barrow I sent a report to Operation Migration.
Well it apparently caused a stir! They always like to know where the birds
are and appreciate reports.
 
According to Operation Migration records, yesterdays birds were only the
third reported sighting ever in Blount County. The first two in 2004 and
2005 (both spring sightings)
 
The birds were #'s 307, 520, 710, 721 & 737, more info here for anyone that

Additionally they used a couple of my photographs and made a report in the
daily journals section for this fall's migration
