Hi folks,
twice in the last few days I've heard Northern Mockingbirds doing
pretty good impressions of White-eyed Vireos. I've not yet seen or
heard the mockee. Makes me wonder - do the mockers simply remember
last year's reportoire?
Today I saw 2 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS on my way to work, in
Townsend, east Blount County. My first of year.
The Lincoln's Sparrow is still gracing our south Blount County home,
and we were finaly able to share it with friends this evening.
While looking for aquatic macroinvertebrates at Tremont, one of the
kids (a 5th grader from Kansas) found a casting of a rather large
dragonfly larva. I'm guessing there must be a Common Whitetail out
there, which neither I nor any of my coworkers has yet spied. Or
else a bird spied it first...
Tracey and I saw an adult male Green Frog at the Maryville Greenway
yesterday.
Charlie
