Saturday and Sunday were great days for seeing warblers in our yard: 3
Tennessees, male and female American Redstarts, a gorgeous Northern
Parula and a spectacular Golden-winged (both first-timers in our yard),
several Chestnut-sided, Magnolia, Yellow, Common Yellowthroat, and
Yellow-throated. Several White-eyed Vireos, a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher,
and a bully Eastern Wood Peewee added to the excitement.
Monday we had 3 male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, male and female Summer
Tanager, a flyover Red-headed Woodpecker (a yard first), Common
Yellowthroat, Tennessee, Chestnut-sided, Magnolia and American Redstart
Warblers, Yellow-throated, White-eyed and Philadelphia Vireos ( the
Philadelphia was a yard first also), Cedar Waxwings, and Song and Field
Sparrows. There were also a lot of flyover Blue Jays.
Can hardly wait to see what Tuesday brings.
