Birders,
Today (10-25-08) the Warioto Chapter of the Audubon Society in Clarksville,
Tennessee held their November trip to Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge
in Dover, Stewart County, Tennessee. The participants included Mr. and Mrs.
Steve Hamilton, Duane Rice, Nita Heilman, and Christopher O'Bryan. The
birders spent half the day driving and walking around the confines of the
refuge. The following was observed:
American Bald Eagle - 2
American Wigeon - 100
American White Pelican - 150
Black-bellied Plover - 1
Canada Geese - 200
Common Grackel - 50
Double-crested Cormorant - 5
Eastern Phoebe - 1
Gadwall - 100
Great Blue Heron - 25
House Finch - 3
Killdeer - 45
Pied-billed Grebe - 7
Ring-necked Duck - 100
Red-tailed Hawk - 2
Red-winged Blackbird - 100
Savanna Sparrow - 1
Song Sparrow - 15
Swamp Sparrow - 23
Wood Duck - 10
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 7
