One Virginia Rail and One Great Egret at Standifer Gap Marsh, 7 AM 7-31-02
500 plus Red-winged Blackbirds in a flock, moving as a group around the
marsh and bare ground. seems early for them to be collecting in a flock.
These were in addition to the numerous Red-wings everywhere in the marsh.
A Cooper's Hawk chased them around a bit but didn't seem serious about
catching one.
