Greene Co., TN: Wal-Mart Distribution Center (WMDC) and nearby areas;
miscellaneous sites in and around Greeneville and Tusculum
I observed the following today:
Pied-billed Grebe (WMDC);
Great Blue Heron (2);
Green-winged Teal (2 WMDC);
Mallard (55 WMDC);
American Black Duck x Mallard hybrid (WMDC);
Blue-winged Teal (3 WMDC);
Gadwall (9 WMDC);
Northern Pintail (4 WMDC);
American Wigeon (8 WMDC);
Turkey Vulture (40);
Black Vulture (14);
Northern Harrier (WMDC);
Red-tailed Hawk (3);
American Kestrel (4);
American Coot (17 WMDC);
Killdeer (24 WMDC);
Great Horned Owl (near Tusculum);
Belted Kingfisher (4);
Red-headed Woodpecker (Green Road 0.3 mile from Highway 348);
Northern Flicker (4);
Eastern Phoebe;
White-breasted Nuthatch;
Cedar Waxwing (15);
Yellow-rumped Warbler (10);
Eastern Towhee (2);
Chipping Sparrow (4);
Field Sparrow (3);
Vesper Sparrow (WMDC);
Song Sparrow (26);
Swamp Sparrow (5);
White-throated Sparrow (14);
White-crowned Sparrow (3);
Eastern Meadowlark (2);
