[TN-Bird] Vesper Sparrow, Bonaparte's Gull, Northern Rough-winged Swallow (Greene Co., Cocke Co., TN)

March 27, 2006

I observed the following species today in Greene and Cocke Counties:

Wood Duck (2 Cocke (Pigeon River));
Gadwall (Greene);
American Black Duck (2 Greene);
Northern Shoveler (8 Greene (Gravel Woods Road));
Green-winged Teal (4 Greene (Gravel Woods Road));
Ring-necked Duck (4 Greene (Gravel Woods Road));
Pied-billed Grebe (2 Cocke (Pigeon River));
Double-crested Cormorant (3 Greene (intersection Pate's Hill Road / 
Jackson Hollow Road));
Northern Harrier (2 Greene);
American Coot (2 Greene);
Wilson's Snipe (4 Greene);
Bonaparte's Gull (6 Greene (Wal-Mart Distribution Center)--only the 
fourth time I have found BOGU in Greene since 1994);
Eastern Screech-Owl (Greene (Greeneville));
Purple Martin (4 Greene);
Tree Swallow (Greene);
Northern Rough-winged Swallow (2--1 Cocke, 1 Greene--first of year for 
both counties);
Chipping Sparrow (Cocke);
Vesper Sparrow (Greene (Wal-Mart Distribution Center));
Savannah Sparrow (3 Greene);
Swamp Sparrow (Greene);
Purple Finch (Greene (Greeneville)).
