[TN-Bird] Vermilion Flycatcher at Hatchie NWR

Hatchie NWR
Haywood Co. TN
After checking all the photos of both the Reelfoot and the Hatchie birds, as
I would expect they are different birds. The Hatchie bird has not molted in
some red breast feathers that were present on the Reelfoot bird when it was
last
seen.

As the flycatcher flies, these birds were located about 65-70 miles apart but
their habitat preferences were the same as most that appear around the area.
Lake side feeding and open areas seem to be the habitat choice. The MS and Ark
birds are found in the exact same habitat and 3 out of 4 were on refuges.

The bird should be quite easy to fine around the fishing pier but it did
disappear for about 30 minutes one time and I never did see it until it landed
right in front of me again.

I've posted shots of this bird plus the photo of the Gadwall sized Canada
Goose and some comparative shots of Ross's with Snow and Canada Geese. Go to:
