[TN-Bird] Upper Douglas Lake 11/28/08

Dutch Bottoms (DB), Cocke county, and Taylor Bend (TB), Jefferson county
By canoe, 3:00 to 5:30 PM
Douglas Lake elevation: 960 ft

We decided to take advantage of warmer weather for a tour of lake
sites which tend to have the highest concentrations of winter
residents and migrants at the current lake level. The cove at Taylor
Bend had a nice assortment of waterfowl - we stayed off at a good
distance & viewing conditions were less than optimal, so numbers and
species reported are conservative.
First-of-season observations are in caps.
