Ten Islands section of upper Douglas Lake, Cocke Co side.
Just downstream from Rankin Bottoms, which are high & dry.
After spending the day birding with Don Miller in Greene Co.,
Cathey Love, Virginia Fairchild, and I met Michael Sledjeski
and Leslie Gibbens at the Leadvale boat ramp for a motorized
canoe trip in the late afternoon.
Greater Yellowlegs - 1
Lesser Yellowlegs - 2
Spotted Sandpiper - 4
Least Sandpiper - 50
Pectoral Sandpiper - 47
Killdeer - 150+
Great Egret - 110+
Black-cr. Night-Heron - 10+
plus (numbers not tallied):
Great Blue Herons
Green Herons
Dbl-cr Cormorants
Wood Ducks
Canada Geese & Mallards
numerous swallows
