My friend Amy (also in Bedford Co) wanted me to ask if this was common...she
has had a pair of house sparrows sitting and sticking their beaks in to get her
sugar water and today, she had house finches doing this same behavior. She also
always has water available. She wants to know is this unusual behavior? I know
occasionally other birds may try for the nectar but the seed-eaters were of
interest to me.
