[TN-Bird] Two exciting birds for me!

After I went to get a Sunday paper at 6:30 AM, I drove into the little park
at the old Cleece's Ferry landing on the Charlotte Park side of the Cumberland
River (across from Bell's Bend) to "see what I could see." It paid off! A
yellow-billed cuckoo flew out of a tall tree on my right to another on my left,
giving me a beautiful look at it with its gorgeously patterned tail. It must
have "irked" a yellow-breasted chat that was already there. The chat flew
into full view at the top of a branch and set up one heck of a "chatter." In
the
five minutes I was there, it was definitely a productive Sunday morning.
Other birds were the usual suspects including lots of common grackles and a
singing Carolina wren. Earlier, at the BP station at Charlotte & Hillwood, a
red-bellied woodpecker was on a nearby utility pole loudly proclaiming its
presence. Right now, my bossy mockingbird is eating peanut butter on my deck,
and
three Eurasian collared doves are feeding on the deck floor. A flock of blie
jays are out back scolding something, and several cardinals are scurrying
around
feeding. A towhee is under the shrubbery beside the deck feeding away, and I
have loads of mourning doves, house sparrows and house finches.

Have a great birdy day.
