Hope everyone had a fine and filling Thanksgiving with much for which to be
thankful.
Yesterday, when driving out the park road from the Inn at Montgomery Bell
State Park near Dickson, TN, where we had a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner, we
saw two lovely turkeys up close to the pavement. Their feathers were nice an
shiny, and they showed no signs of wear and tear as they shimmered where the
sunbeams hit. Their "bronzy" necks and upper backs literally glistened, and
they appeared to be unafraid in their protected(?) environment. How nice to
see a couple of wild turkeys after having just consumed a good bit of one of
their domesticated counterparts on "Turkey Day"!
