[TN-Bird] Turkey shares with squirrel

Yesterday we had an unusual confrontation. Having failed to put out the cracked
corn, the 20 Wild Turkey spent their time cleaning up beneath the other seed
feeders. There is a small tray feeder fixed to the deck rail (a 2x4) used a
great deal by our family of Fox Squirrels. As one was busy stuffing his face, a
Turkey hopped up onto the rail and stated to feed in front of him. The squirrel
turned its back, flattened the hair on its tail and went on eating. Now and
again the squirrel would back up a little, and the bird would flinch, but go on
eating. Eventually the Turkey was pecking seed from either side of the mammal.
Two other Turkeys arrived and watched the proceedings, looking as if they were
interested in joining in, but there was no room on ther rail. Another first for
the yard. Ralph and Kay Brinkhurst, Lebanon, Wilson Co.
