My daughter gave me a metal mesh tubular feeder which I use for  
peanuts and raisins and
it has afforded me great views of birds eating on my patio.
This morning I looked out at a
beautiful red bellied woodpecker gobbling down peanuts. One of the  
resident Grackles made
a pass at it and was ignored. In just a minute the Grackle made a  
downward approach and
quick as a wink snatched a peanut right out of the Woodpecker's bill.  
The WP looked sort
of confused but quickly went back to gobbling peanuts.
