The Tennessee Aquarium is sponsoring a member's trip from Ushuaia,
Argentina across the Drake Passage to the Antarctic Peninsula aboard the
Corinthian II January 29 - February 11, 2009. This ship is 297 feet
long, sleeps 114 and was built for use in the waters around the
Antarctic. We will explore the islands surrounding the peninsula by
zodiac which should put us in the midst of the penguin colonies! The
boat is staffed by a group of naturalists, including staff ornithologist
Ken Wright. The birds on this trip should be mind boggling! Chinstrap,
Gentoo, Macaroni and Adelie Penguins and even accidental Emperors have
been seen. The other seabirds are fantastic including Wandering, Royal,
Gray-headed and Black-browed Albatross, Southern Giant Petrel, Blue
Petrel, Cape Petrel, Common diving Petrel, Snowy Petrel, Snowy
Sheathbills......

I will be the Tennessee Aquarium leader on this trip and if you have any
interest contact me for more information.

Come join me on this once in a lifetime trip!
