Many thanks to Dwight Cooley and Damien Simbeck for sharing
their knowledge of Wheeler NWR and the Wheeler and Wilson Dam
areas. Thanks also to Richard Connors for the TOS support
into a "foreign" territory.
Several of us did finally get Dark-eyed Junco on Sunday,
but they were scarcer than (no not hen's teeth) Pine Siskins,
which seems strange but true. Some of us waited at the viewing
platform at Key Cave NWR for the previously reported Short-eared
Owl, but it failed to show at the appointed time, We did get
excellent views of 8 or so N. Harriers before it got too dark
to view.
