Recently there has been some discussion on the TNBIRD Listserve regarding the TOS Website. It is good that people care about what is on the website and that individuals are suggesting how the website might better meet their needs. Please be aware that the Website is a service of TOS and as such is the joint responsibility of all members. I want to thank Chuck Nicholson for his work as webmaster. It is important to remember that all functions of TOS are completed by Volunteers. The effort TOS members put into the operation of the organization is a labor of love. Most of the individuals in the positions of officers, chairpersons, directors, editors, etc. also have full time jobs, which results in a time-balancing act. Constructive criticism is a way of keeping us all focused as well as motivating each of us to work toward improving the organization. As President of TOS, I invite comments from members on aspects of the organization which could be improved. A willingness to help in the work of the organization is especially appreciated. Some TOS members actually have assumed responsibilities in several areas, and I would like to invite others to offer assistance so that the volunteer workload might be more evenly distributed. We are attempting to improve our service delivery whenever possible. In the past few years, there have been many improvements related to state bird organization websites. Several members have pointed out features on other websites which they would like to see incorporated into ours. If you have ideas or suggestions, please consider attending the Winter meeting this weekend in Manchester or the Spring meeting in Nashville. There will be opportunities to discuss your ideas in an open forum. Also, you can e-mail me directly or any of the people who make TOS work. Many are listed on our TOS website. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation.
