Okay. I went back today. Still found the Terns circling back
and forth in front of the ramp. Their beaks are not bright
orange or yellow. They look grey ( thru my 7x35 binoculars ).
The white spot on the rump makes me think they are indeed
"Forster's Terns". Tip of the hat to Mr. Harris.

Other birds I saw today at Horn Lake ( Desoto County, MS ) in
the rain:

Double-crested Cormorant drying his feathers in a victory pose
Great Blue Heron, just like the one in the book, a beautiful bird
Barn Swallows, doing little acrobatic maneuvers just above the water
plump Eastern Bluebirds perched in a tree just above my head

I want to get a spotting scope with a tripod. Any suggestions?
What do the experts use?
