[TN-Bird] Swainson's thrush and Bay-breasted warbler, possible black bear this week in Kingston [Roane Co.]

Monday morning I stepped outside and heard a Swainson's thrush singing up in my
woods where all the thrushes seem to fetch up during migration (the wettest
part of the woods, with the thickest undergrowth). Gone the next day.
And Wednesday morning I heard a Bay-breasted warbler in the oaks and poplars.

Apologies if I've already posted my bear-scat story: late last week I found a
fresh omnivore scat 200' past the last driveway on my little dead-end lane. It
came from either a raccoon larger than a Rottweiler or from a smallish black
bear. I much prefer the bear theory. Wildlife-watching neighbors ~3 mi.
downriver from me say bears have routinely foraged in their neighborhood for
the past 4-5 years, and that this is the time of year they typically show up.
So the bulldozers have ruined my yard for turkeys, and driven the Pileated
woodpeckers and most of the deer a bit further down the ridge, but at least my
'hood is still bear-worthy. ;D
