[TN-Bird] Standifer Gap Marsh, Willow Flycatcher

Standifer Gap Marsh, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, TN
May 21, 2005
Least Bittern,  10+ sightings, 1st nest fledged, 2nd nest practice nest, 3rd 
nest 3 young 4-5 days old, 4th and 5th - can't relocate,  6th 4 eggs, 7th 1 
egg,  8th five eggs, found nests 9 - 11 today, all new and complete but no eggs

Green Heron,  2, likely nesting

American Coot,  4

Virginia Rail,  4, only nest so far this season 2 eggs May 4, 8 eggs May 15-21,
apparent 7 eggs some days seem to be due to egg hidden underneath

Sanderling,  6  on blacktop west of church (Ken Oeser)

WILLOW FLYCATCHER,  2,  singing and remaining near location of 2004 and 2005 
nests  (area southwest of culverts under gravel road, easily seen from road) 
(also Eastern Phoebes nearby)

Orchard Oriole,  about 6,  3 nests near gravel road near oil line marker, 2 
easily seen from road

Mike and Susan Nelson (Knoxville area?)
Roy Nelson (not related to Mike/Susan), Gene Brewer (local)
Ken Oesner and Hiroshi Oruma (Knoxville area?)
David Patterson (lives at the marsh)
