[TN-Bird] Standifer Gap Marsh, Common Moorehen

Standifer Gap Marsh, Chattanooga, Hamilton County
May 21, 2006
Common Moorehen: Mike Nelson reports a Common Moorehen after I left the group
yesterday (May 21). I suggest that he post details himself.

Keep in mind that we had a Common Moorehen at the marsh last year.

I believe it was Mike rather than Ken Oeser who told me about the Sanderlings I
posted yesterday.

Eastern Kingbird nests: May 15 one nest on the east side, 0 eggs May 15 and
18; May 21 one nest in the northwest, also 0 eggs but very agitated adults.

Both nests resemble Redwing Blackbird nests, but they are lined with a 1/4"
layer of fine dense felt made of cattail fluff. They are both about 2-3 ft
above water level in Buttonbush clumps 20+ feet out in the water.
