This morning, Caroline bullock and I went to President's Island in
search of Painted Buntings. We heard one and I saw one fly by.
Luckily, we had some consolation prizes. We spotted a pair of Scissor-
tailed Flycatchers, 31 Great Egrets, 28 Wild Turkeys (a few males
were displaying) and I spotted a Mottled Duck. At Ensley Bottoms. we
spotted a Yellow-crowned Night-heron, 99 Black-necked Stilts, 1 non-
breeding Spotted Sandpiper (no spots), 1 Song Sparrow, 1 American
Redstart, plus the usual suspects. We think we had a very good day.
