[TN-Bird] Sora and other yard birds -- Catoosa Co.

I went out this morning hoping for some early fall migrants or some
post-breeding wanderers. There were lots of chickadees, titmice, and
gnatcatcher flocks which would usually be full of migrants later in the
season, but nothing today. I spent a good 1 1/2 hours plus with not much to
speak of, but upon crossing the creek (on my way back up to the house) I
flushed a SORA!!!! I only got about a 1 second view but its unique shape and
stubby bill made it an easy to rule out all of the other possible local
rails. It really was a (nice) surprise because the habitat suitable for
rails is very limited around that area, so I'm assuming it was a migrating
bird. Yard Bird #156!!!!!!The only other species of note was a
female/juvenile Hooded Warbler up by the house.
Good Birding!
