On my way to west TN this morning, I had a Merlin in Jackson (Madison Co)
flying over the Columns shopping center on Vann Rd (exit 80B), just north of
I-40. It appeared to have been chasing some starlings.
In western Dyer Co, along the westernmost levees along the Mississippi River, I
had a bunch of loggerhead shrikes and a dark phase Harlan's Hawk (which was
cooperative and well photographed in flight).
Hundreds of horned larks worked the freshly plowed ag fields across Dyer Co.
Good Birding,
