[tn-bird] Soddy Mountain Hawk Watch 9/29/02

I never anticipated another good flight of raptors today but we still had 
another very good day considering it is so late in the season for Broad-wings 
to be migrating.

Counters today were Debbie & Roi Shannon, Cynthia Wilkerson, Lenny, Lee Anne 
and Jodi Kafka and myself.  Debbie is blessed with exceptional eye sight and 
can spot specks that Roi and I have to wait a good five more minutes to get 
focused on. And, she can correctly identify them from that distance. Amazing!

Totals were: 

BW -  402
SS  -   13
CH  -     1
BE  -     1   (Adult)
OS  -     2
RS  -     1
          ------
          420

Today's totals bring our Broad-wing numbers to a new ten year season high of 
5035.
