Western part of Morristown Hamblen County Sunday, February 17, 2008 While counting birds for Feeder Watch as well as Backyard Bird Count, I had a couple of records - at least for me. I counted 6 Pine Siskins - I've always been happy to see one or two during the entire winter I also had 4 Purple Finches - 1 male and 3 females - maybe one per winter is the most I've ever seen at my feeders in the past In addition, I had 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch - have had one visiting me feeders all winter And then I counted all my winter regulars, 2 Downeys, 1 White-breasted Nuthatch, 35 Gold Finch, 12 House Finch, Red-bellied Woodpecker, 8 Cardinals, 1 Song Sparrow and 2 White-throated Sparrows, 6 Juncos, 2 Carolina Wrens, 3 Carolina Chickadees, 2 Titmice, 2 Blue Jays, 2 Crows, 5 Starlings, 9 Mourning Doves, 3 Robins and 1 Mockingbird.
