After a dry spell without Loggerhead Shrike sightings, I had 4 sightings, consisting in what I believe to be 3 individuals, over the past two days. On Thursday, Feb. 15, I had #1 perched on a hay bale on Duncantown Road about .3 miles from its turn north as Tuck Road. Today I saw what I suspect to see the same bird at the intersection of Tuck with Grady Ellis Rd. These two spots are about .3 miles apart. On the way home Thursday I spotted what I'll call the David Haskell Shrike, (he reported a shrike to this list at this spot---about a year ago?), on Georgia Crossing Road .6 miles west of Greenhaw Road. Today I saw a shrike about 1.7 miles WWSW of this spot on Arnold Farm Road in a small, relatively new, unsigned nursery. There were also today (Feb. 16) 5 Snow Geese, three of which were the blue form, in the field on the left at the northern end of Morris Ferry bridge. Following are the coordinates of the shrike sightings as best I can estimate them (numbers refer to their order of mention above): #1 35.3233, 86.0282 #2 35.3250, 86.0209 #3 35.1837, 86.0167 #4 35.1778, 86.0417 Jerry Ingles Sewanee, TN (Franklin Country) It has been my very great fortune to find an incredibly wonderful bird. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
