[tn-bird] Re: Shrikes

I am hoping that Jeff Wilson is right about the shrikes possibly nesting in
the K-Mart parking lot tree, however, they were not to be seen this morning
when I was down there around 9:30 AM. In Florida, I was very familiar with
shrikes nesting in several spots on our large tract of land (now a
subdivision, shopping center, etc. near Orlando.) They particularly liked
some of our more thorny citrus trees (to spike their catches) and the one
lone, scraggly peach tree which stood in the center of our ten acre
watermelon patch. My only reason for suggesting that these might be migrants
is that I have never before seen any this close to the Charlotte Park
neighborhood in my twenty-three years of living here. Hopefully, this is a
sign that they are going to set up housekeeping a little closer by.
