John and Mrs. Henderson, Roy and Debbie Shannon, ??? Trent, Boyd Sharp, and
Gail and Steve Clendenen were treated to a spectacular display by 3 Short-eared
Owls and 5 Northern Harriers this evening (Jan. 20) at the site as reported
this week by David Trently and Steve Stedmon, .9 mile east of Highway 127 on
Ninemile Cross Road in Bledsoe County.
The first harrier was seen before 4:00 CST, and the first owl came in at
4:52. Light was good because the sky was only partly cloudy. Each bird
appeared first in the field on the north side of the road that has the pond in
it. All of the birds were very visible and one owl circled low, just above the
group of birders.
