This afternoon (Dec. 26) Harry LeGrand and I found one Short-eared Owl again
flying at dusk over the short-grass fields on the south side of Hillendale
Rd. in southern Cumberland County. We arrived at 3:45, when it was overcast
with a hint of drizzle, and soon found a N. Harrier, and later another one.
The Short-eared Owl didn't appear until 4:30 PM. We watched for several
minutes (hoping to see yesterday's second owl), but left as it disappeared
into the slight fog. See yesterday's post for more details on the location.
