[TN-Bird] Short-eared Owl in Gibson County

Yesterday at dusk while driving very slowly along the ice-covered Hwy. 54 in
Gibson County I had a Short-eared Owl fly across the road in front of me. This
is the first Gibson County record that I'm aware of. This was between Frog
Jump and Gibson Wells on Hwy. 54.
With all the sleet and snow on the ground the feeders in the yard have been
swamped. The suet feeders have been especially popular with 4 species of
woodpeckers taking turns: Red-bellied, Hairy, Downay, and this week for the
first time, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. The female Red-breasted Nuthatch is also
still a regular as she has been since October. No siskins or Purple Finches
yet but tons of House Finches and goldfinches so I'm keeping a careful watch.

All I want for Christmas is a Redpoll. Either species will do. That's not to
much to ask is it?

Merry Christmas to all and good birding!
