[TN-Bird] Shorebirds & more, Gibson Co. 9/25/06

Ed Davis Fish Farm (Gibson/Carroll Co. line) 5 miles east of Milan on Milan
Airport Rd.

On the way home from work this morning, I stopped back at the drained pond 
to see if there had been any turnover from yesterday. The Baird's was still 
there, as were the Semi Plovers, but the Semi Sandpiper and Lesser 
Yellowlegs were gone. A Stilt Sandpiper was present this morning, and when I 
stopped and scanned on the way back out, a juv. American Golden-Plover had 
shown up.

I checked a nice little wooded area on the edge of a wet area, and had the 
best feeding flock of migrant neotropic passerines that I can remember; the 
front that passed through really brought some birds with it. I birded about 
100 yards of road, and had at least 60-70 warblers in this area, too many 
birds for me to really go through by myself. The majority were Magnolia, 
Tennessee, and Northern Parula, but with 9 other species represented as 
well. At one time, I counted over 20 birds moving in one tree, and often had 
3 or 4 warblers in one field of view. I also had all of TN's regular vireos, 
with the exception of Bell's. Birds of interest are below:

Black & white Warbler 1
American Redstart 2
Common Yellowthroat 5
Wilson's Warbler 1
Rose-breasted Grosbeak 10+
