[TN-Bird] Shorebirds in Collierville

Aug 27, 2006. Collierville, Shelby County, TN 1045-1130am
While traveling N on the new stretch of the Wolf River Blvd, something
caught my eye in a large mud puddle at the intersection with Byhalia Rd.
Both the SE corner and S of the SW corner have mud puddles from the rains
over the past 10 days and lo and behold some shore birds have shown up other
than the Killdeer.

Between the two water holes were 2-Solitary Sandpipers (one in each mud
flat), 5-Least Sandpipers, several Killdeer and a couple of Morning Doves.

A mile down the rd at the new Creekside Subdivision at the backside
bordering the river bottoms several raptors were soaring.

5- Turkey Vultures, 1- Red Shouldered(IM) Hawk, 2-Broadtailed Hawk
