There were 7 Semi-palmated Sandpipers and one beauty of a "David Vogt
bird", the Spotted S. , (those who attended the last meeting of the
Chattanooga TOS chapter were entertained by David's tales of this, his
favorite bird), along with one each of Short-billed Dowitcher and
Semipalmated Plover at the Hillsboro pond today. This pond is on route 41
south of Hillsboro and north of Betsy Willis Creek. Look for the silos on
the West side of the highway-the pond is just north of the silos.
Encouraged by a Bank Swallow found yesterday, I checked the nearby wires
for this species, usually seen there in a couple of weeks from now, but
found only a lot of immature Barn Swallows and a few Rough-wingeds.

I have been lucky enough to find an incredibly wonderful bird.
