[TN-Bird] Shorebirds at Ensley-Western Kingbirds

I had counted over 800 Wind Birds, a crop duster and a Peregrine disrupted  
the count but the numbers would approach 1,000 today. Mostly Least with 
large  groups of Semipalmated Sandpipers in the mix. I had 16 Westerns before 
the  Peregrine streaked through. Most of the Westerns were well along in molt 
but  some still retained many red based scaps for a touch of color. The 
American Coot  with the bad wing welcomed the much needed water in its pool. 
The pair of  Gadwall in the wetlands along Riverport Road can fly but just 
barely as  both have wing injuries.
 
A quick run around President's Island produced 5 adult Western  Kingbirds 
and 3 young of the year. Mississippi Kites were seen in good  numbers over 
the woods there and more flying over many main throughways across  the city 
today.
