[TN-Bird] Shorebirds Rear Guard

May 15, 2009
Ensley Bottoms
Shelby Co, TN

Shorebird movement is winding down but still a few birds coming through.
This last front may drop some more in or deplete what's around, you just have
to get out and check each day if possible. Red-backed Sandpipers made for
a good show.

A noon day run produced: Many resident Killdeers and Black-necked Stilts
both tending nests, 4 Spotted Sandpipers, 3 Solitary Sandpipers, 7 Lesser
Yellowlegs, 262 Semipalmated Sandpipers, 1 ratty looking Western, 18 Least
Sandpipers, 4 White-rumped, 1 late Pectoral, and 52 nattily attired Dunlin.

A single flyby Black-bellied Whistling Duck, 3 Least Terns and stunt flying
 Mississippi Kites were added treats.
Good Birding !!!
