Shelby Park and Bottoms
Nashville, Davidson Co.
Hoping that the cooler weather might bring
more birds and less mosquitos, I birded Mission
Hill in Shelby Park and Phase 1 of Shelby
Bottoms this morning. The birds did not disappoint,
as I was able to find 14 species of Warblers:
Blue-winged Warbler - 3
Golden-winged Warbler - 1
Tennesse Warbler - 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 6
Magnolia Warbler - 9
Blackburnian Warbler - 2
Yellow-throated Warbler - 1
Palm Warbler - 1
Bay-breasted Warbler - 1
Black-and-white Warbler - 2
American Redstart - 12
Common Yellowthroat - 3
Wilson's Warbler - 3
Canada Warbler - 2
Other species seen included:
Great Egret - 1
Eastern Wood-Pewee - 14+
Philadelphia Vireo - 1
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 2
Phillip Casteel
Nashville, TN
