[TN-Bird] Shelby Forest etc.

Shelby Forest and vicinity, north Shelby Co.
    I ventured out this morning, as I saw that the weather was going to be 
favorable today -- no rain and not too hot.  Birds were still singing fairly 
well at Shelby Forest.  A Scarlet Tanager was at the beginning of Island 40 
road.
    Found 12 species of warblers: Parula 12, Yellow-throated (Sycamore) 1; 
Cerulean 5; Redstart 9; Prothonotary 4; Worm-eating 1 (on the bike trail from 
Picnic #3, where the steep hill drops off); Swainson's 2 (1 near the Nature 
Center, the other just past where the Worm-eating was), LA Waterthrush 3; KY 9, 
Hooded 5, plus Common Yellowthroat and Chat at Eagle Lake.
    I also found a good place to see Cliff Swallows: southbound Warford street 
where it crosses the Wolf River, just south of I-240.  There was enough 
shoulder on the bridge where I could park and watch them easily from the car -- 
there were a good ten or so birds, with their peach-colored rumps and 
foreheads.  Virginia Reynolds found large nesting colonies in Memphis last year 
and earlier this year farther west on the Wolf.
