Greetings'
While visiting my poodles who are staying with friends in Antioch, a
sharp-shinned hawk flew across their back yard on Pettus Road just about a
half-mile
east of Nolensville Road in Davidson County..
When I left there, I drove across Old Hickory Blvd. along the south side of
Nashville in South Davidson County. At the intersection of Kingsbury Road, a
peregrine falcon crossed Old Hickory in fast descent mode toward a yard
about a half-block away. I could not see what it was after, and traffic was
such
that I could not pursue it to find out.
In Bellevue, a few minutes later, a red-tailed hawk flew across Hwy. 70
just past Colice Jean Road. It was flying erratically, as if in pursuit of
something which I did not see.
Seemed like sort of a hawk day as an unidentified one got past me just
before I left Hwy.70 to turn onto Sawyer Brown Road. Migration???
I hope to pick up my poodles and go home early next week. I'd like to
rekindle friendships with my "bossy mockingbirds" and other former feeder
friends
who have gone without Dee's Smorgabird since I became too ill to keep it
going before Christmas. With luck, my birds have not deserted me and will
quickly be retrained to come for dinner at my home in the Charlotte Park
section of
Nashville, Davidson County!
Cheers & prayers,
Dee Thompson
