[TN-Bird] Sedge Wrens - 7 Islands, Knox Co

While covering 7 Islands Wildlife Refuge for the Knox County
Fall Count this morning (Sun, 30 Sept 2007), I had a very
close encounter with 2 SEDGE WRENs as they approached me
making grunting sounds through a thick field of 5-ft tall
goldenrod. I stood still and one popped out almost within
arms length for the best view I've ever had of the species
as it sat in plain view at chest height about 4 ft away for
maybe 30 seconds. My camera was around my neck but I was
afraid to move to try to get a photo.

Directions to 7 Islands are on the TOS website. Walk back
along the road just over 1/2 mile to the path by the large
Weeping Willow on the right. Make a quick right and follow
that trail to the Steamboat Island trail. There's a trail
to the left on a dike. Take that trail about 100ft then cut
through the goldenrod to the firebreak that runs along the
river. This is where I had the wrens.

Other highlights were 2 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHes and 10
warbler species including my personal FOS Yellow-rump
for TN (had some in MI and ONT earlier this month).
