Thanksgiving Day
My kids went to in-laws today, so I went birding!
I drove to Norris and the Surf Scoter and White-winged Scoter were still
just above the weir dam. I watched them preen and the white patch was very
visible on one bird. They were accompanied by a couple of Ruddy Ducks and
two Ring-necked Ducks and some Mallards for good measure. However, all of
the ducks became very nervous when a very streaked immature Bald Eagle
soared over the river for a few minutes.
I walked the Songbird Trail and found 22 other species - none of which were
surprises - only birds that can be expected to be found there at this time
of the year.
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.
