[tn-bird] Scissor-tailed FC - Dyer Co.

May 15, 2002
Dyer Co. TN

I took a quick trip this afternoon to look for the Hudsonian Godwits being
seen in the Reelfoot area, NADA. At the location that Glen Criswell had
located the Godwits off 104 Highway, late this afternoon I found a female
Scissor-tailed FC. The bird had a worn area on the tail as often seen on
nesting Scissor-tails. The bird flew into a line of trees along 104 and just
disappeared. Although I did not see a male bird, anyone birding the area
ought to keep an eye out.

The bird was found on the first gravel road east of the Great River Road off
104 Highway and flew into the three trees that are located at this juncture.
I was able to get a couple of photos before she disappeared.

Good Birding!!!
