[TN-Bird] Sapsucker

At about 10:30 this morning, I walked out front to the sounds of songbirds
everywhere. Hearing a particularly loud Carolina wren in my holly bush, I
walked over in the direction of that shrub which is about 20 feet tall and
perhaps 7 feet in diameter. The wren was REALLY loud, but, just as I
approached, a yellow-bellied sapsucker flew out of the holly and up to the
maple tree a few feet away. He was all decked out in his finest array of
color. After he flew from the holly, the wren flew out to the west side of
the yard, and a mockingbird flew over to my dogwood tree. Three different
species all in that one holly at the same time was just amazing to me. Maybe
they were all inspecting to see what attracts the screech owl to hide in
there occasionally. That is the same holly a cardinal carried some nesting
material to last week, but I think she has changed her mind.
It DOES seem a bit late for me to have a sapsucker in my yard, but I can't
swear by that.
